Run and monitor the quality of product in the packaging department.
Maintain Filling area compliant with government food handling and worker safety standards Maintain good communications with other departments Maintain a well organized and clean area Assist at achieving daily production schedule Duties and
Responsibilities:
Perform daily set-up of lines (if applicable) in accordance with Pre-Production SOP and other established directives.
Review and be knowledgeable of Filling Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Review and be knowledgeable about general machine operation by reading Operational Manuals and through On the Job training (OJT).
Operator must constantly observe multiple machine operations to ensure quality and condition of packaged products.
Immediately report defects to supervisor and/or Quality Control.
Inspect and remove defective packages and packaging material.
Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a Team Leader or Maintenance Technician.
Experienced operators may be required to make recommendations and/or minor adjustments to machines as required.
Operator must ensure adequate supplies of corrugated boxes; glue and ink are on hand and replenished to insure continued operation.
Report any low stock levels to department manager or supervisor immediately.
Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn't sticking properly.
Perform documented checks every 10 minutes and fill out required paperwork in accordance with SOP and other established directives.
Perform daily shutdown of lines (if applicable) using Post-Production SOP, Daily Sanitation Checklists, and other established directives.
Perform routine housekeeping activities throughout operating hours in production and support areas to maintain sanitary environment.
Review and be knowledgeable of all Personnel Practices SOP's.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to climb up and down ladders and/or stairs and lift 50 lb bags waist high throughout the course of work shift and during high Temperature and humid days.
Reliability, flexibility and detail oriented Quick learner with good communication skill and legible writing Good math and computer skills Excellent job attendance record High School diploma desired by not essential Job Type:
