This position is located in Saline, MI.
This position has responsibility for vehicle telematics development. The Engineer will design/package and manage assigned parts from concept to post launch quality assurance.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Design of new multimedia products such as DCM, radios, navigation systems, amplifiers, and other multimedia communication modules
Creation of DCM specifications for each telematics supplier
Support and trouble shoot issues found during prototype/production builds
Supporting on site evaluation in various areas around the US.
Interface with system component engineers such as cockpit electronics
Liaison between various Toyota Design Center's Engineering Staff
Discussion with cloud based service providers managed by other Toyota Engineering teams
Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (with fundamental Mechanical and Electrical Design knowledge)
Preferred
Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree
Experience working in the automotive field
Overtime 10%
Travel 20%

Toyota Technical Center (TTC) is a division of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, North America Inc., established in 1977. TTC's Michigan R&D facilities are located in Ann Arbor, Saline, Plymouth and Livonia. In addition, TTC has testing facilities in Torrance and Gardena, California and a 10-mile oval test track in Wittmann, Arizona.
TTC is engaged in engineering design, prototype building, vehicle evaluation and engineering, materials engineering, powertrain tuning and design, safety/crashworthiness, regulatory affairs and advanced research. TTC has development responsibility for vehicles such as the Avalon, Camry, RAV4 EV, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra and Venza.
